Disqus For Comments

You may have noticed that I\’m now using Disqus for comments. Using it will mean a few key things

  • Comments can be cross posted to social networks
  • Logins are verified (reduces spam)
  • Login security is not my responsibility
  • Javascript comments mean my server can cache more.

The logins and login security are probably the biggest factors, especially after the gawker / lifehacker / gizmodo security flaw in passwords. I mean, obviously, the core competency of my blog (my writing) shouldn\’t be distracted by worrying about whether people\’s passwords get compromised.

The cross posts to social networks SHOULD increase my blog traffic some, we\’ll see. Hopefully something interesting will come of it.
